Happy Birthday to my grandfather Arnold Rudd. Many of you know the special relationship I had with my grandmother, but may not know I had that same bond with my grandfather. I use the word had because my Gramps has been suffering with Ahliezmers for the past 2 years. My mom was a single parent and never remarried until I was in my mid 20s. When my grandfather retired from General Motors and moved to Phoenix from Buffalo....so did we. My grandfather raised me, I never went without. I may have not had all the fancy things my friends did, but I had stability, love and laughter. I remember my mom working long hours which left many things for Grandpa to deal with. One of the funniest memories is having to wake him up and explain I need to go to the drug store because I started my period....OHHH that night standing in the Kotex aisle with my grandfather was entertaining because neither of us new what the hell to buy. My Senior Prom Dress shopping was done with my grandfather, all the Saturday nights he dropped off and picked up at the skating rink, him nursing my first broken heart, getting caught making out in the bed of his pickup truck in the driveway late one night and him standing in line for me to get Phoenix Suns Tickets for playoff games while I was at school. I cant forget the numerous dance lessons that he funded over the years. I love you grandpa, I miss our talks and McDonalds dates! Thank You for everything your an amazing man, I hold onto all these wonderful memories in my heart. XXOOXXX
