Happy Birthday to my wonderful daughter Bethany Nelson! It has now been a quarter of a century since I stared through those large glass windows in amazement filled with questions of what to do with a baby girl! When the doctor laid you on Sherry’s stomach he said, “I hope you wanted a little girl!” I did and could not be happier. The times spent with you sitting by my side on the couch, swinging you as high as I could on the swing, catching turtles, throwing rocks in the creek, watching you run up the hill to me when you got off the bus with arms wide open, reading the little notes that you used to write me (I still have them all by the way), watching you climb to the top of the tree, holding you in my arms and watching you drift off to sleep or just sitting on the front porch telling you stories are beautiful memories that are thought about every day. Now, watching you mature as a Christian, being able to refute false doctrine, loving truth, standing for truth, loving music, playing the guitar together, laughing at the funny stuff that others miss and watching you love Lane as your own makes my life and others more blessed! One of your school teachers told me one time that the Lord was going to make something special out of you. He did! And I am so thankful and happy that He chose me to be your daddy! I am very proud of you and love you very much. I also hope you have a blessed day!
