Happy Birthday to one of the BEST, Billy Freeman! This amazing man got an incredible birthday gift. He was given the gift of a healthy liver. I was told that the donor was a dear friend of his. What an amazingly selfless act of this man, Billys donor, to give the last of himself, even while he knew that he was losing his very own battle with his health here on Earth. I have no doubt that both your friend and your sweet wife are celebrating for you today in Heaven. Because they most assuredly know what most of us did not, before the past two days, anyway: They know what we know.. that life isnt perfect. They know that death is inevitable...at some point...for all of us. But, heres what ELSE they know: They know that while somethings ARE inevitable, somethings....THE BEST... THE MOST PRECIOUS....THE MOST MIRACULOUS...THE MOST HOPEFUL THINGS ..Well... those things ...they come from the hardest and most painful parts of life. Its those bittersweet gifts that show us a glimpse of humanity and grace, even in the midst of mourning. And, they know that while there are so many things that are beyond our control, the most important things....love...kindness...caring...they know that we CAN control that. They already knew it, and now we do too. I know you, Sweet Billy. I know that you are mourning the loss of your friend. I know that you are struggling a little too. Your heart is battling...in feeling both thankful for the gift of health....and mourning over the loss of a friend. And, celebrating is not nearly as sweet, without your beloved Trish Clark Freeman. But, you just remember what THEYVE taught us, Billy. Theyve taught us that life is precious and its entirely possible to grieve and to celebrate...all at the time. I love you, Sweet Billy. If anyone in this entire world deserved this break in their lives, it is YOU. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! PS- This song is not a birthday song. Its not even a celebration song. Heck, its not even relevant. But, everytime that I listen to it, I think of you. being from our swamp and all. I sure do love ya!
