Happy Birthday to the late David Purley GM who would have been 70 today. Best known for abandoning his own race in the Dutch GP in 1973 to try and save the life of Roger Williamson and was awarded the George Medal for his efforts. After surviviing a 179.8G accident at Silverstone in 1977 he took up stunt flying and was tragicly killed in 1985 off Bogner Regis when his plane crashed into the sea. RIP David.
