Happy Birthday today (June 28) to both original Procol Harum drummer Bobby Harrison (with them only for landmark 1967 single Whiter Shade of Pale; replaced by BJ Wilson) & bassist David Knights (1967-69, replaced by Chris Copping); Bobby later formed the band Freedom (recording four albums between 1969-72), joined Snafu (three LPs between 1974-75), did session work on recordings by Procol keyboardist Matthew Fisher & released solo albums in 1975 & 1998; he currently plays with Christian-oriented rock band Journey; David played on Procols first three albums - Procol Harum (1967), Shine on Brightly (1968) & A Salty Dog (1969); he later formed the band Ruby (1974 album Red Crystal Fantasies) & produced a single for Mickey Jupps Legend…
