Happy Burns Night everyone........feel free to use my poem here.... Burns may be remembered Haggis is delightful, Haggis is the stuff, Haggis is o’ worldwide fame, We Scots can’t get enough. Wee Scots can’t get enough, And BIG Scots love it too, Munch up all your haggis, It’s very good for you. It’s very good for you, And so are neeps’n’tatties, They’re good for ‘skinny-malinkies’, And also for you fatties. And also for you fatties, Who swill too much strong beer, Try drinking nips o’ whisky, At this fine time o’ year. At this fine time o’ year, The 25th o’ the month, You’d better eat your dinner, Or you’ll get it for your lunch. You’ll get it for your lunch, Those entrails so dismembered, So sup your haggis doon, And Burns may be remembered. And Burns may be remembered, This haggis is for you, The heart an’ lungs o’ a Nation, For it is offal too. For it is awful too, When folks don’t understand, Traditions of oor Nation As in no other Land! Kendric Ross, Author of ‘Classic Children’s Games from Scotland’, Scottish Children’s Press, ISBN : 1 899 827 129 Poet Lorrarot tae the Nation (neeps’n’tatties = turnips and potatoes) Master of the Uni-verse (Burns night is 25th January and celebrated worldwide.
