Happy Canadian Civic Summer Long Weekend Holiday everyone! I raised my family out west with BC Day ( which is absolutely phenomenal - and I usually spent it on Granville Island) Here in my home town Halifax ( a garrison military town) its called Natal Day . I am a confessed essential service groupie ( which was tricky with pascifist politically leftist parents) and I cry and get emotional at parades when I see them all marching in their uniforms . Jim and I have a tradition now - we watch the parade from the north end - right in front of the place where we first met in the sixties - on the steps of St. Josephs . He was the sweetest cutest boy Id EVER seen in my whole 13 years! ;) He was in the army reserves . It was a tentative kiss...a walk up Kaye St to the bus stop back then back to Purcells Cove to catch royal poop for getting home so late when I said I was at the Library with my friend Denise ( she is apparently a saint) :) .
