Happy Christmas Eve! Heres one of my twelve social-media posts today to acknowledge its passage. I invite my fellow Christians to strive to maintain your focus this Christmastime on what matters most---the reason for the season, so to speak, which is Jesus Christ. As John the Beloved once wrote (as recorded in John 3:16-17): For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. So, Jesus Christ Himself was, in a sense, our worlds first Christmas gift---a gift of salvation from our loving Heavenly Father to all of us. And, during His mortal ministry, the Savior both expertly taught and perfectly exemplified how we should live, overcame death so that we might be resurrected, and atoned for our sins so that we might be saved (and perhaps even exalted) through qualifying ourselves to receive such gifts of His grace through our faith-and-works. Lets strive to live our lives as He would. How can you specifically better focus your heart and mind and words and actions on Jesus Christ the Savior this Christmastime and beyond? And how can you better share this precious gift of Gods Son with your family and friends and acquaintances?
