Happy DOG of the Week goes to Ray Purkis pictured here in his DUI 30/30 drysuit. two things you can count on if youre diving a DUI 30/30: 1) Youll be comfortable on all 4-5 dives a day, and 2) Everyone will want to talk to you. I must admit... I like both! Hi DUI, Thought Id send some photos of me doing some tropical drysuit diving in my DUI 30/30. Ive finally gotten used to the questions, laughs, and strange looks I get wherever I go - A drysuit... here!?! And over the last eight years here has included such warm-water destinations as Bonaire (x2), Curacao (x3), Hawaii (x4), South Florida (x4) Cayman Islands, Red Sea, Truk Lagoon, Turks & Caicos, Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas. Whether land-based or liveaboard there are two things you can count on if youre diving a DUI 30/30: 1) Youll be comfortable on all 4-5 dives a day, and 2) Everyone will want to talk to you. I must admit... I like both! And - contrary to what many divers think - I also know Ill be comfortable between dives as well. With the breathable fabric, ankle seals (so my feet get wet) and thin baselayer undergarments I am far more comfortable at the surface (even in 100F temps) than Ive ever been while wearing even the thinnest wetsuit. Below you can see me napping during my surface interval at noon in Bonaire on a 90F/32C day. Frankly, if someone told me I had to give up my DUI 30/30 Id probably have to give up warm-water diving... as well as being the center of attention. Ray Purkis Princeton, NJ
