Happy Dussera! The day where symbolically good overcame evil. Fighting fiends is fine. But do we foster friendship? Edmund Burke once said: All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. And many of us are staring into our whatsapp, or our Facebook wall, or what not, and do exactly that: Nothing. We vie for vicarious likes. We are living our lives on the thin surface of a touchscreen, with convenient smileys and abbreviations nearby We package ourselves and project what others perceive to be our perfect self without realizing that we are only pandering to putrid symbols. (Pardon the pompous alliteration. I am trying to make a point here) Many of us are no better than the 1 mm thick absurd gigantic cut-outs of politicians we see in many parts of our country. Evolutionists say that many million years back, a fish dared breathe air, on land. Now we are reversing the trend. We are now being compared with the goldfish. My long posts are a protest to the reversal of evolution If you have had the patience to read till here, your attention span is surely better than one of a goldfish. I guess you are truly my friend and are interested in such messages. Maybe there is still hope. Maybe we could really fight evil. Happy Dussera!
