Happy Faith Building Friday! Then the L-RD said to me, youve been skirting (traveling) the mountains long enough. I want you to TURN north. Tell the children of Israel its time to head toward Edom. Youll be going through a section of the mountains that belong to the descendants of your relative Esau, the brother of Jacob. The people who live there are afraid of you and are watching your every move, so be careful not to start anything and end up in a war with them. Their land is NOT included in the land I promised to give you. -Deuteronomy 2:2-5 Its time to move forward. Many of us have been traveling around the same mountain for many years. The mountain of frustration, lack and fear. The mountain of immorality, addiction and dependency when G-d seeks to move us toward a land (in this case mental realignment) where prosperity does not consist of monetary goods but signifies shalom and fulfillment. Yet as we travel, we will encounter people along the way as was the case with Israel. They were to travel, not through land owned by strangers but distant relatives who had heard about the victories and destruction brought to Egypt. Conversely, this was not part of their inheritance. Similarly, there are people in our present company who have witnessed and heard about the goodness of G-d as it relates to our journey. However, not all people we encounter whether family, friend or foe is rejoicing in our new found liberation and are looking for any and every reason to engage in conflict. Not everyone is part of your promise land, not everyone is mesnt to travel the distsnce with you and until we learn this, we will contunually engage in conflicts and battIes never meant to be experienced. Why? Because we are simply PASSING THROUGH. I came to warn you today that as you travel northward through hostile terrain be on the lookout. Consider and know who dwells among you and walk circumspectly, not in pride or dissent but with prudence and wisdom. They are looking for every reason to discredit, mock and thwart what G-d has planned for you in the ensuing days and months to come. Remember, walk in wisdom and if you lack wisdom ask G-d to direct your steps. Shabbat shalom. Go forth. Shalom.
