Happy Feast of the Holy Family! (In the ordinary form). I saw something interesting in my 62 missal when I was preparing for the Christmas Vigil. In the extraordinary form, the liturgical color for the Christmas Vigil is purple. I thought that a wonderful little touch, exemplifying how, even at the vigil, we are still awaiting the coming of the Lord. This leads to a question: in the calendar of the extraordinary form, does every solemnity have a vigil? And what are usually the primary differences between the vigil and the Mass of the day? Thanks!
