Happy Friday!!! (A day or two late!). I have had some sister time this weekend and it has been awesome. Both of my sisters face chronic diseases. My older sister has stage 4 breast cancer and my younger sister has systemic lupus. They are tough cookies! Amazing fighters! Brave and beautiful! Are you old enough to remember Robert Conrad in the old Everyready battery commercials? He was a real tough guy and always said Go ahead! I dare you to knock this battery off my shoulder! I watch my incredible brave sisters and I imagine that battery on their shoulder. They have dared the world to knock it off while they stand straight and tall and tough as nails! That makes me think of you! You are a survivor by definition from the moment you hear those words you have cancer. Whether one month, one year, one decade or one millennium...you are a survivor. In the bible, Joshua 1:9 says Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. There is nothing about a cancer journey that is easy and there is a lot that is frightening and maddening! But be strong my friend! Be strong! Stand straight up like Robert Conrad and dare the world to knock this chip off of your shoulder because YOU GOT THIS!!!!! I am so proud to know you! Thank you for being a part of my journey and allowing me to be a part of yours! I love you all! You are my blessing every day! We have yoga Tuesday night at 6 in the JKBC.
