Happy Friday! Did some casting last night in order to proceed with some projects Im working on. Main focus was the replication of alien eggs. Im currently setting up the framework for the egg silo. Im thinking Im going to need around 70 eggs for the diorama....and only one open egg LOL! Woah...just realized....thats a lot of eggs to paint! YIKES! Some will also be transparent by the way. :) I was also able to successfully cast the third stage of the interchangeable chest piece to Kanes chestburster figure. Was worried because it was such a thin piece parts would fail to cast or air would get trapped - fortunately I loaded the piece with vent sprues which provided several strong , clean casts. The Engineer helmet has been successfully cast! Next up is to sculpt the Engineer head that is found inside. I sculpted a new version of Ripley that I think has a stronger likeness at this scale - got a couple casts out of it last night as well as some bald versions for future projects. I also made a mold and cast the mouth piece to the Hot Toys snap kits avp Queen which I plan to reduce and re-sculpt to create an ALIENS version. #alien #alien #Prometheus #casting #molding #eggsilo #engineer #ripley #kane #chestburster
