Happy Friday! This week we turn our spotlight on Kumu Andrea, one of our fantastic fifth grade teachers! Once with long blonde hair, shes started the 2014-2015 year rockin a gorgeous new look with red hair! Whether its organization for her classroom, topics for her students to study, or her love of style and fashion, Kumu Andreas knack of knowing which great trends to follow keeps things fresh and exciting! Kumu Andrea is starting her 3rd year at Pacific Heritage Academy. She has a degree from Westminster College in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology. She currently holds a Level 2 Educator License for the state of Utah. Prior to PHA Kumu Andrea spent seven years employed in many different roles for the Salt Lake City School District. Her work has been in schools in the Rose Park and Glendale neighborhoods. Kumu Andrea is very excited to be a part of the Pacific Heritage Academy ‘Ohana because she believes that children learn best when actively engaged in all aspects of learning; learning about themselves and the world around them. In her free time Kumu Andrea loves to read, go to movies, enjoy good music, collect animal prints and play with her pets. She would love to learn to play the drums and get involved in archery.
