Happy Gandhi Jayanti and Happy Shasrti Jayanti ! Two great leaders were born, with vastly different background and education. One was truly the Father of modern India stirring up the masses like none other, motivated to free his motherland after facing discrimination in South Africa, UK and then India. Educated as a barrister in UK, he came to be fondly known as “Bapu”, a father figure for the generation that fought for freedom. We are talking of no one lesser than Shri Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. A lesser known was a former Prime Minister of India who hailed from a very poor and humble family, fought alongside national stalwarts and rose to the great position due to his honesty, humility and care for the poor toiling masses. He is best known for his slogan “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” or “Hail the farmer, Hail the soldier”. Happy A true patriot who died untimely before he could complete his dream of uplifting the poorest. He was none other than Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri.
