Happy Halloween Everyone! (or howlween for our furry family members?!) Heres a few tidbits to keep our pets safe during the festivities (thanks to the SPCA!): 1. Trick and treat your pet with treats safe for your pet. Chocolate and candies are not healthy and could be potentially deadly. 2. Pumpkins and decorations may look appetizing to our canine pals but may cause upset stomachs. 3. Decorations, especially cords and wires, should be kept out of reach to prevent any unwanted nibbling. Dont give your pet the Frankenweenie treatment! 4. Carved pumpkins with candles can easily be knocked over by excitable pups and attract curious kitties.Be conscious with placement of creative jack-o-lanterns, 5. Costumes can be scary! Seeing humans or creatures can be really frightening! Giving pets a costume of their own may cause anxiety too. Spot may benefit from sitting out on the fun for a night and sporting a birthday suit rather than a hotdog if he doesnt enjoy it. 6. Be mindful your pet is staying indoors when opening the door for trick or treaters! 7. Last but not least, Have a great night and stay safe!
