Happy Independence Day it is....in so many ways! Despite the return trip taking longer than we hoped due to lots of traffic, Lauryn did great...no signs of the car sickness that we were warned of. She was super excited to see the Welcome Home decorations all over the yard and inside. She seems to understand the importance of taking it easy so the evening was very laid back & much appreciated. Ive struggled with needing L to understand that her skull will take a long while to heal - she is not the kind of girl that appreciates boundaries - she is a girl that likes to charge through life throwing caution to the wind! Last night (not surprisingly), Lauryn slept with Charles and me....1st time since surgery. While we watched her like a hawk for any signs of an s, we werent right next to her - so unable to feel her every move. Im so happy to report that she slept like a baby.....still no s after 14 days! Do understand how HUGE this is.....my girl has missed out on uninterrupted sleep for 3 1/2 years.....God continues to bless her....Shes been blessed with awesome Drs, nurses, therapists, family, friends, teachers....Her future is so bright - I know God has great plans for her! She starts outpatient therapies on Monday...although she has asked to do some yoga moves this morning...my girl is determined! We wish you all a blessed and seizure free July 4th!
