Happy Inspiration Monday Everyone! Praying that you have a wonderful week and find inspiration in todays word, WHAT IS THAT BAD TASTE IN YOUR MOUTH? So you said something and now you savor that awful “foot in the mouth”. Youve committed a “verbal offense”. Ignoring the foot protruding from your mouth is a) painful and b) stupid. “Why?” People notice and make even a bigger deal about it. Once you own up, you can move on, but until you do you’re stuck. If you find your foot halfway down your throat, recognize your mistake, admit it, say “Im sorry” and mean it, and move on. Colossians 4:6 says, “Let your speech [be] always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” It is not the crisis that determines your fate, but how you deal with the crisis. At some point or time, we all say something that we wished we had not said or for that matter, perhaps something we wished that we had not done. Your quick response to correcting yourself, brings immediate respect from those around. In addition, it determines how things will go next. Do you recognize the impact of what you have said or done? Are you empathetic and remorseful? Are you making amends the best way you can? Are you more careful and sensitive in the future?” Now youre having dreams that your teeth are falling out of your mouth. According to dream expert Lauri Quinn Loewenberg, this is one of the most common side-effects of foot-in-mouth syndrome. Especially for those who gossip or whisper about other peoples business. She says, “It’s one of the top ten dreams we all get and is the result of allowing something out of your mouth that should have remained in there permanently, like your teeth. People who gossip, people who say things without thinking get this dream quite a bit,” says Loewenberg. The scripture says that we will give account for every idle or careless word that we have spoken on the day of judgment. Even words against our brother or sister, one day, we will have to be accountable for as we stand before the Lord. Matthew 12:36 If the person feels you have done them wrong and that their own reputation is at stake, its important to remember that the world doesnt revolve around what is best for one individual, but your decision is based on the final goal in mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Philippians 2:3
