Happy Launchiversary, Chris! Two years ago today, Col. Chris Hadfield blasted off with Russia’s Roman Romanenko and NASA’s Tom Marshburn on his third mission to space. During his five-month “World Tour”, he became Canadas first Commander of the International Space Station and, with his crewmates, conducted over 130 science experiments, which included Canadian science on the human cardiovascular system and radiation, and technologies for medical testing in remote locations. Chris also captured the worlds attention by sharing his experience and breathtaking pictures of our planet like no one before him using social media. Through engaging videos, in-flight events with thousands of Canadian students, celebrities, dignitaries and the public, a national science contest, a worldwide sing-along on Music Monday, the unveiling of Canada’s new spacey $5 bank note from space and many other outreach activities orchestrated by the Canadian Space Agency, Chris inspired young and old alike.
