Happy Madras Day: I have been living in Madras for the last 50 years and watching the changes happening.From a calm and quite Madras it has changed to a thoonga nagaram. Best of Chennai: 1.Beautiful Marina beach,Theosophical society,IIT campus,ECR,OMR. 2.Best hospitals attracting medical tourism. 3.Best institutions like IIT,CEG,Loyola,MCC,private Engg.colleges...... 4.Best place for Carnatic music and dance. 5.Best silk sarees. 6.High class technicians and actors of Tamiz cinema. 7.World class facility,labour and atmosphere for auto industries. 8.World class software industries creating job opportunities and cultural changes. 9.Kumbakonam filter kapi,Saravana meals,Dindukal Thalapakatti biriyani and karandi omlette,Ratna café sambar idli,Beach sundal,cafe coffee Day... 10.The kind hearted poor people who come to rescue in case of any emergency whether on the road or anywhere. . Minus part of MADRAS: 1.Humidity and heat. 2.Narrow roads,clogged sewerage lines,overflowing garbage bins and encroachments. 3.Indiciplined motorists and Two wheelers. 4.Auto drivers,aayas,conductors,watchman,arrogant political thugs rule the city. 5.More and more people migrating to the city due to opportunities,where as the infrastructure is limited. 6.Hoardings,encroachments restricting people to walk on the pavement. 7.Too many political parties and too many rubbish tv channels. 8.Uncontrollable,arrogant auto drivers. 9.Dirty/filthy TASMAC overcharging outlets in residential areas. 10.Political unfillingness to do radical changes. High light: Not so conducive weather or bike lanes, still can cycle through out the year with best coaches and trainers available :)
