Happy Monday! God bless you on this beautiful Monday morning! I do pray that everyone had a great day in the Lord yesterday as we gathered to worship the only true living God, Jehovah, Jesus Christ. May I ask you on this Monday morning, after a day of worship, what does it mean to hunger and thirst for righteousness? Did not Jesus tell us, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6)? And then we read in (Psalm 42:1-2), “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?” What did Jesus mean by, “those who hunger and thirst after righteousness? Now the words hunger and thirst, are expressive of a strong desire, right? Nothing would better express the strong desire which we ought to feel to obtain righteousness. The true servant of god should possesses an insatiable appetite for what is right, a passionate drive for justice. A born again Christian should continuously be engaged in a pursuit of God, a hot, restless, eager longing to walk with Him, to please Him. Thats the type of person Jesus referred to when He said, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). May I say this, the hungering and thirsting for righteousness that Jesus spoke about includes more than just looking upward for righteousness? Hungering and thirsting for righteousness also means looking around and being grieved over the corruption, the gross lack of integrity, the moral compromises all around us. You see the born again servant of God should hunger and thirst for righteousness on earth! And did you notice that Jesus said that those who do hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be blessed and filled? To be blessed means to be happy, which is the inner qualities of a follower of Christ. Amen! My dear friends, never was there a desire to be holy, which God was not willing to gratify. God has made provision to satisfy all who truly desire to be holy! Hear ye the Word of God, “As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.” (Psalm 17:15) Are you seeking after righteousness? If you are then keep on keeping on for you will be blessed. Loving You In Jesus Christ, Pastor David McGee
