Happy Monday! One of the things we love best about social media - in addition to promoting fun events and incredible ReStore items - is that it gives us the opportunity to share information about Habitat that many may not be aware of. We would like to start focusing more on that piece and hope that we will all continue to learn many of the ways your Habitat gives back to your local community and families! To kick things off, we wanted to share a tidbit about our equal opportunity application process for families wishing to apply for a Habitat home! We truly offer a hand up, not a hand out. Each family must meet minimum and maximum financial requirements, needs to qualify for a nonprofit loan, is required to give back hundreds of volunteer hours to our local community and pays the monthly mortgage on their home. In addition, the application process is 100% equal opportunity within the criteria mentioned above. Our families represent a beautiful demographic, crossing all races, gender, age, religion and physical ability/disability. We do not discriminate in any of these categories.
