Happy Monday! Today we were very busy! We had a fantastic math lesson, as all students were engaged and worked very hard. They practiced finding the area of an array by breaking the array up into smaller chunks that they do know. In reading we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. day by watching a short video about his life and listening to part of his I Have a Dream speech. The students then were able to write their first comment on our kidblog.org site! They answered the question of what they learned about MLK. We also began our light and sound science unit by defining what energy is, and we talked about why light and sound are types of energy. Tomorrow is all about shadows!
