Happy Monday form Jim Fordyce and CoachellaValleyFun How much - TopicsExpress

Happy Monday form Jim Fordyce and CoachellaValleyFun How much can one do in one weekend? The answer is LOTS, especially when you live in the place many people can only dream about in January. Thursday night was dinner at Rio Azul (fabulous of course!) and a walk through downtown. Friday night, Kevin was out of town, so I took by pal Steve Tiger to see Nite Club Confidential. It is the new show from Desert Rose Playhouse. This jazz musical stars one of our valley favorites, Miss Joey English, in a role that fits her perfectly! She rounds out a great cast and a lot of great musical numbers. And the costumes are to die for. Dont miss this show. If you missed Saturday nights Improv Games 3 from the talented kids at College of the Desert, you missed one great night of ad libbed fun. The audience gets involved and the laughs did not stop. I hope they do number 4 very soon because I will be ther again! It was nice to see my friend from the Mary Pickford Movie House, Ted Hane, in the audience. His daughter was one of the talented cast. Sunday night it was the star-studded staged reading of The Man Who Came to Dinner. Among the celebs were Jennifer Hart and The Girl from UNCLE herself, Stefanie Powers, as well as Christopher Atkins of “The Blue Lagoon” fame, Broadway vet Sal Mistretta, actor G. W. Bailey, and funnyman Fred Willard. The night was a big benefit for Coyote Stage Works, and I had a blast. Be sure to check out the CVFunFotos we took. Coming Up... The fun doesnt stop. You can all pick your favorites and mark your calendars now. The stage hasnt cooled off, and Coyote Stageworks is opening another show this weekend: The Andrews Brothers are coming to town. Also opening soon is Les Miz from PCT, Hairspray with Bruce Vilanch, an Invasion of Privacy from DEZARTS, Niteclub Confidential continues its run at DRP, and you can take a trip to the Roaring Gulch very soon, courtesy of Desert Theatre Works. You can also take a trip to the Catskills to see the comedians at McCallum. I will be a judge next Saturday for The Chili Cook-Off at the Palm Springs Womans Club, and my friends Richard and Mary will be debuting their new CD next Sunday night at Woodys. Where do you learn more about these greats events and listen to CVFuncasts for a backstage look at the preparations of these events? Why, you just go to CoachellaValleyFun, of course.
