Happy Monday from Jim Fordyce and CoachellaValleyFun My weekend - TopicsExpress

Happy Monday from Jim Fordyce and CoachellaValleyFun My weekend started Wednesday night as we raised money for the American Foundation for Arts Education. This orginaztion held a star-studded Broadway-style gala to help keep art education in our schools and teach the kids all about acting and performing. I saw the lovely Kay Ballard in the audience with Rex Smith (thats me with Rex in the photo) on stage, along with a myriad of Broadway people. (Ask me about the time I was sort of in a movie with Rex.) Thursday night we went to Wangs to wish them a happy tenth anniversary here in the desert. You will find that sotry and the photos on our sister website CoachellaValleyNews. You will also find photos of my Saturday morning stops there. I brought the camera to the Holiday Boutique and the Braille Institute and found great handcrafter items for holiday gift giving. I got something there myself to decorate our patio when we remodel it in January, but dont tell Kevin, because it is a surprise. But we got ahead of ourselves there and missed Friday night, when we attended opening night of Exquisite Potential. This is the season opener from Dez Art Performs, and my review is posted, but here is a hint: get your ticket NOW so you can enjoy it next weekend. Saturday night we enjoyed downtown Palm Springs as our firends David and Susan came to vist. Yes, we took their photo under Marylin and had a great dinner at one of my great sponsor restaurants, Rio Azul. We also dropped by The Farm restaurant for a glass of wine. We havent eaten there yet, but that is going to change very soon. Oh, yes, and Sunday brunch was at Sunshie Cafe in CC; then we were off to El Paseo for some spice shopping at Savoury Spice Shop to make sure our Thanksgiving food is tasting perfect. And before we left El Paseo, we were VERY bad and had VERY GOOD coffee and pastry at Il Sogno. Coming up: After you eat Thanksgiving Dinner, you can check out the lights at the Zoo. They will flip the switch Friday night. And I will be at the top of the world as I take the Tram up to mountain station and watch as the lovely actress Lindsay Wagner lights the tree we will see from all over the valley. While you are planning your week, look ahead to some of the other events coming up. We have the Gay Mens Chorus Holiday Concert on the way, and the Desert Winds Freedom Band will be performing, not to mention the hysterically funny Tuna Christmas coming to COD. And if you havent seen it yet, the holiday offering at Desert Rose Playhouse is The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told. I saw it on opening night and you will laugh your jingles off!
