Happy Mothers Day!!! Every once in a while we hear reports on what the toughest job in the world is - well, I do not think anything compares with the job a mother does: She is our coach, counselor, friend, judge, jury, punisher, forgiver, cook, maid, bottle cleaner, launderer, chauffeur, doctor, healer, and this list goes on and on. Not only does she do all these things but she normally has an outside full time job besides. For many she also stands in the gap and at times plays the role of father. In Proverbs it says: Proverbs 31:24–29 (NIV) 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” So, Moms, for all you have done and will do, we say -- Thanks! We would like to invite you all to services this morning -- as we continue looking at the Gospel of John. This morning we are going to be looking at the Witness of John the Baptist, and ask ourselves, How is our witness? We have really been missing you!! We miss your voice during our time of praise and singing - so I will save you a place so that your voice can be added to those who are already belting in out for God (we like to make a joyful noise).
