Happy NYE yall!! Here in NOLA at 6:30 pm, you can feel the relative calm before the NYE festivities really get going. I plan to be in the thick of it, playing my banjolele, occasional mandolin (fried my fingers on that one last night) harmonicas and kazoo, with Bryan FunFactor MacMartin on my left, Washboard Brad on my right and anyone else who happens to sit....er....stand in. Today I woke up at Isabelle Jacopins amazing apt/art studio in the heart of the French Quarter to Doreen and her band (the creme de la creme) playing right below me....what a treat...go into the next room, open the French doors to the balcony (or gallery) and look right down at them! Then to go downstairs and be right in the thick of it...I have already biked to see Rev. Tony Talavera and Smoky Greenwell...Starbucks break now, then off to try and hook up with the boys...by way of Envie coffeehouse/local hangout. Further updates pending! 🎉
