Happy New Year...! Your Arrested!!! Im going to tell you about one very memorable New Years Eve I had.... It was a particularly hoppin night downtown. I was the Director of Security working the trenches with my hand picked team. I had a drunk male who was certain he was a guest at our hotel in spite of being told by our front desk staff that he in fact was not. This sort of thing happens more often then you may think. Buddy now being fully aware that he is trespassing as well as being escorted out by yours truly for the 3rd time, decides that he is going to take a shot at me. We were headed through the front doors at the time he decided to dart ahead turn around and punch me in the face. I deflected his blow with a rising triangle block and flowed into a straight arm-bar takedown, which he resisted. I managed to pepper him with some common peroneal stuns (knee strikes) before being pushed backwards through the second set of doors. With my back against the door, this was an unstable position for me, so I shifted my weight turned and pressed Buddy up against the window next to the doors. This was not good for the window... It shattered. I immediately pulled Buddy away from the falling glass, spun around and we made distance on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. Buddy had a choice... Buddy made the WRONG choice! He decided to come at me and take another shot! Straight arm-bar takedown into a standard On Guard pin and the Tactical Handcuffing commenced. All this at the stroke of midnight one memorable New Years Eve. When dealing with a resistive subject, knowing how to properly pin and employ an efficient tactical handcuffing procedure is critical. And of course it is very important to have a Calm mind amongst chaos I will show you just how to achieve these concepts in the upcoming Handcuffing course.
