Happy New Year everybody! We we did our 12th annual Audubon bird count on Dresser Island on the Mississippi River today. We got 44 species of birds and hiked 7.25 miles. Birding data is collected nationwide, compiled, and sent to scientists for analysis of trends in bird populations. Its been a New Years Day tradition for us for awhile. A real highlight was seeing two eagles on top their nest. Hard to believe they will be laying eggs soon. Gods blessings on the New Year!
