The film reportedly had a 90–95 percent occupancy in most theatres on opening, and will likely break the box office collection record of Aamir Khan’s movie Dhoom 3 and also Salman’s Khan’s blockbuster Kick. This means the Shah Rukh Khan Diwali release will easily break the opening day box office collection record of Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 that itself stands at an all-time high of Rs 36 crores (all languages). Dhoom 3 broke the opening BO collection record of SRK’s film Chennai Express that was Rs 33.12 crores. It’s a given then that HNY will also break the opening BO collection of Salman Khan’s movie Kick that just fell short of Dhoom 3 at Rs 35 crores.
