Happy Old Years Day! Bye Bye 2014 and Roll on 2015. It has been a great 2014 made extra special by all the amazing guests who have stayed with us at Middlewick. The people who stay here are what make it a magical place. 2014 has been a year of Bs. We have installed our new Bio-Mass heating system so our cottages are toasty and warm. The wood pellet burning boilers replace the outdated, un environmentally friendly electric heaters that were in the old farmhouse. It also replaces the gas boilers that we used to heat Pippin, Springfield and the Swimming Pool. It has been a great success and it is so nice to know that we really are reducing our carbon footprint that bit more. Bathrooms were also on the list for 2014 - we seemed to have done plenty of them this year. Nice shiny new ones are in most of the cottages now and we hope everyone is enjoying the improvements. B is also for buildings. Our gorgeous E-den Glamping cabins were featured on George Clarkes Amazing Spaces in the Autumn which was very exciting. So we decided to buy another E-den to make it 3 down in our field. Oh and to continue our collection of Amazing spaces we have bought a #recycled hexagonal timber structure that was damaged in the Somerset Floods. We found it for sale on Ebay and rescued it from a farmyard not far from here. The new E-den will be joining us in the Spring. And the #upcycled building will be put back together next summer. Lots of other projects to keep us busy over the winter as well. We are planning to add more fruit trees to our newly planted orchard. More raised beds are planned for the kitchen garden so that we can provide more vegetables to our farm shop. The ugly gas tanks between the swimming pool and Pippin/Springfield are coming out next week so there will be some landscaping to do there to make it look pretty again. Oh and we are going to have little lambs in the Spring - Molly and Mo the sheep have been off with the neighbours ram so we are hoping to have some babies in May. We would like to wish everyone the very best for 2015 and we hope to see many of you again soon. Jill, Jonathan, Thomas and all the staff at Middlewick.
