Happy Raksha Bandhan .....The legend associated with the festival of Rakshabandhan is the story of Draupadi, the wife of the five pandavas, and Lord Krishna. It is also believed that the original ritual of rakhi was started by them. According to the legend, Lord Krishna loved Draupadi so much that he called her sakhi. Even Draupadi trusted Krishna a lot and worshipped him with utmost devotion. Once Lord Krishna threw the Sudharshan Chakra at Shishupal, to punish him for his sins. But, in the act he hurt his finger. When Draupadi saw the blood oozing out of his wound, she tore a piece from her saree and ties it around the wound. Touched by her affectionate gesture, Krishna asks her what she wanted in return of this favour. Draupadi asks Lord for the Lords holy presence in her life forever....Jay SreeKrishna...... It is believed that since that day Lord Krishnas protection was with her like a shadow. Even when Kauravas tried to dihonour Draupadi by trying to remove her saree (cheer haran) in a hall full of ministers, Lord Krishna protected her honour. The Kauravas were later punished in the battle of Mahabharata....Jay sree Krishna .... SreeKrishnarppanamasthu...
