Happy/Sad: for the past couple of days. Deandre has been coming home sad. He shared with us 3 days ago. The teaching staff told him he wasnt going to graduate (being a senior). He was confused, deflated, and embarrassed by the information the staff gave him. So for 2 days he asked, no begged us (mom an dad) to investigate this issue. So finally today my wife follows through. She contacts the school staff and is told this. Based on Deandres (and our) intrest in his future education. Deandre will have the choice of graduating ceremoniously. Which he could choose to end his tenure at the school, or ceremoniously graduate and continue his education. In extended high school education. With additional education from two separate outside resources. Working in conjunction with the school. All in all....Deandre will be graduating. I cant wait to see his face when he comes home and we can talk about the good news. I am so grateful for the opportunity and resources that are afforded to us and our son. I share this story....because. I would like other parents to have. A case study of what can happen when resources are available. What a difference it could make in a childs life....if only given a chance. I will share the names of the resources and programs. When everything is confirmed.
