Happy #Saturday, everyone! Do you love #rice? Do you know that there’s a famous type of fried rice in Southern China that has a long #history? #Yangzhou fried rice, which tastes fresh and savory, is a simple homemade dish that generally made from leftover rice and other dishes. Its origin stems from General Yang Su of the Sui Dynasty, who was fond of eating suijin rice (#egg fried rice). He therefore introduced the rice dish to Yangzhou culture when he escorted Emperor Yangdi to patrol Jiangdu. Not just eaten at home, this type of fried rice is also served as a “must-have” #food dish before #desserts in many Chinese feasts. The fired rice is composed of a great variety of ingredients including #vegetables, #meat, #seafood, eggs and of course, rice. Usually, the rice is stir-fried with eggs first, while the vegetables, seafood and meat are cooked separately. The ingredients are then well mixed together and quickly stir-fried again. The resulting dish is colorful and tasty, and it’s really simple to #cook! You can make it tonight! #YUM
