Happy Saturday, friends of the Salvatones! Hope the day is treating you well so far! Last night’s concert was a resounding success. The sizable audience was full of parish members, members of the musical community, and followers of both The Salvatones and Thierry Escaich. Our artistic director, Daniel Brondel, was the emcee of the evening, and he engaged the very receptive and open audience by introducing the French art of organ improvisation and delivering verbal program notes during the concert. The men of The Salvatones delivered not only Gregorian chant (Te Deum, Salve Regina, and Veni Creator) on which Mr. Escaich improvised, but popular themes as well, including Simple Gifts, Goodnight Irene, and New York New York from On the Town.
