Happy Solstice, America! How are you? This holiday goes by many names: Solstice, Yule, Saturnalia, Jul, or Yalda. Regardless of name or customs its core purpose is to observe the shortest day of the year. Since winter has spread her icy fingers, humans have celebrated this day much the same, with a few personal flourishes here and there. So do as our ancestors did, enjoy the daylight while you can, eat well, spend time with your family and friends and bask in the warmth of love and plenty. By all means if you can find a Druid to cut down mistletoe, Vikings to haul in a Yule Log, or a Roman to exchange candles with, do that as well.
