Happy Spring! Thoughts on Gardens and New Beginnings ... My husband and I recently moved from Mount Shasta to Phoenix. People constantly ask us “why?” Why Phoenix (my God its so HOT!)? Mount Shasta is so amazing! Its one of the power vortexes of the earth? Why would you ever leave? Because we were ready to live in community. Because it was time to move off the mountain and be part of the world in a more direct way. Because it was time to serve in deeper and more present ways and to do this we needed to be more available and accessible. In the three weeks we have lived in Phoenix, we have been with more people on a daily basis than we have been in the last 3 years. We have been warmly and effusively welcomed everywhere we have gone. We are invited to dinners and get-togethers, meditations and classes. Weve made new friends and get to see our family. Even the birds in our backyard have multiplied by the score. We started out with a handful of sparrows and are now the Preferred Bird Spa for a flock of sparrows, finches, 2 pair of morning doves, flickers, grackles and hummingbirds, not to mention all the ones that show up unannounced. Its wonderful. We feel blessed to live in community once again and to be part of the greater garden of life. Happy Spring, everyone. May you sow your light deeply into the community of your heart and watch it grow beyond your wildest dreams. May you see the gift of every soul-flower that seeds itself into your life. May you nurture and tend every relationship – with yourself, your family, your friends and the earth – with harmony, respect and love. May your garden be filled with Grace. I love you. Ashana
