Happy St. Patricks Day! A pretty active next few days are in store - TopicsExpress

Happy St. Patricks Day! A pretty active next few days are in store weather wise. This morning we are looking at a band of light freezing rain/sleet moving in from the west. This will just be a morning issue, but may cause slick roadways. High of 43. Today will be windy as well. Gusts from the south will be near 25 MPH here in Mankato, closer to 40 MPH in SW Minnesota. Beginning tonight is when we start to see some early effects from the much advertised storm system for tomorrow. It will be a light drizzle or flurries depending on which side of 32 we are on. Tomorrow morning will see a rain snow mix transition to sleet and then to snow by the evening. Winter Storm Watches and Warnings have been posted from 7:00 AM Tuesday until 7:00 AM Wednesday. The way it stands now, the heavy snow will miss our area. Most of us will see 1-3 of snow along with the multiple chances of freezing precipitation, but the heavy stuff isnt too far off. If the low pressure wobbles a little to the south, we could see more. Stay tuned! keyc/weather Meteorologist Jack Gerfen
