Our lesson was from Elder Ballards talk, Follow Up. -Following up is one of the most important aspects of missionary work. -This is our first interest as a Church- to save and exalt the souls of the children of men. Erza Taft Benson -Missionary work is necessary in order to give the people of the world an opportunity to hear and accept the gospel. They need to learn the truth, turn to God, and receive forgiveness from their sins. (Gospel Principles Manual, Chapter 33) -Missionary work allows for other children of our Father in Heaven to learn of the Plan of Happiness and be sealed with their families for time and all eternity. -In the Pre-Existence we accepted the Lords plan and we also committed one to another to help them return back to Heavenly Father. -Ways to prepare ourselves to share the gospel: -Pray for specific opportunities -Study the scriptures -Learn & live the gospel -Matthew 7:7-8 -Use Preach My Gospel! -Acts 3: 1-8 (video- youtu.be/AT7cnOkGcBQ ) -People who hear the gospel and come to know it is true, become full and eternally happy. -Sharing the gospel isnt about the baptism but about the people going to the temple and receiving the rest of the saving ordinances.
