Happy Thanksgiving 2013!!!! Coming into work this morning, feeling sorry I was here and resentful I was not invited to Thanksgiving Dinner with my kids, I started to realize all the things that I am truly thankful. I have plenty but I decided to list a few. I am thankful for my kids, who give me reasons to get up in the morning, who help keep me sane when I feel like I’m falling apart, and who have unconditionally accepted me for who I am. I am thankful for the opportunity to be a single parent, relying only on myself, and learning to be a better person and role model for my kids. I am thankful for my friends and family who have given me lots of support during the past year. I am thankful for not only their advice, but their willingness to confront me when my thinking is wrong and distorted. Friendship is not only about agreeing with the other person, but it’s also about challenging them to be better person. I am thankful for meeting a very special person in my life, because Its restored my faith and belief that there must truly be a God. Angles do walk among us and take many forms, it’s important to take the time and discover them. I am most thankful for the power of forgiveness. Anger and resentment robs us of our happiness. It kills hopes and dreams. It keeps us from growing. It’s is not just forgiving others, but we truly have to forgive ourselves – let go of our mistakes, and our faults. I struggle with this the most, but I’m working on it and its getting better. For all these things I am truly thankful!!!!
