Happy Thanksgiving, movie fans! Im sure many of you are planning on watching Plains, Trains, & Automobiles, perhaps the best Thanksgiving movie of all. But consider checking out these lesser-known Thanksgiving flicks: Pieces of April, starring Katie Holmes as a young woman running around ragged, trying to prepare for hosting Thanksgiving dinner for her family. This is a surprisingly impressive comedy drama. Home for the Holidays, directed by Jodie Foster and starring Holly Hunter (and many others). Dutch, starring Ed ONeill as a step-parent who must retrieve his disgruntled step-son for Thanksgiving. The New World, starring Colin Ferrell provides some prestige to your holiday as it recounts the story of the Thanksgiving settlers and Pocahontas. This film was directed by Terence Malick (The Tree of Life). Son-In-Law offers the other end of the spectrum with low-brow comedy from Pauly Shore. You can find more info about each of these flicks at IMDB. Check your streaming services for availability.
