Happy Thanksgiving to you and your ʻohana! Even here in Hawaiʻi, we feel the seasons shifting and the temperatures dropping—it was 60 degrees the other night! This is a special time of year for two important reasons—it’s an opportunity to give thanks, and to be reminded about the importance of giving and doing our part to serve others. To my brothers and sisters in uniform, thank you for your service. I know what its like to be away from your loved ones during the holidays, and how hard it can be. Please know that we hold you in our hearts and prayers, as you do the tough work of protecting our nation. To you, I am grateful for your support, friendship, and aloha. Serving the people of Hawaiʻi and our nation is a great privilege, and I look forward to continuing our work together. Best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving to you and your ʻohana.
