Happy Thanksgiving, yall. Id want to say that Im thankful for - TopicsExpress

Happy Thanksgiving, yall. Id want to say that Im thankful for everything, but people think thats a cop-out. In actuality, I really do mean that. Im thankful for everything. The good. The bad. The amazing. The despicable. The newsworthy. And the ho-hums. If it werent for those things, we wouldnt be where we are now - Where were glad for where we currently stand, experiencing relief and peace after having fought through storms. Where were upset for where we ended up, but it allows us to look back and see where things went wrong - things that we would never have noticed, and in turn be able to warn and guide others, if we ended up in the right. Where were awed by the circumstances that stand before us, that we may share it with others to bring that feeling of lightness and calm that they would rarely ever feel. Where were distressed by the horrors and tragedies surrounding us, that we would have a chance to start over, learn from all of our mistakes, strengthen each other, and fight for hope in a perceived world where we once saw nothing but ourselves. Where we argue and agree on the things we find interesting and important, building relations and acknowledging forgotten bridges with every step. Where we yawn and grumble of our situations, looking forward to better tomorrows, looking back at wonderful yesterdays, and have the ability to recreate either in the present. Im thankful for our opportunities, missed opportunities, and restrictions. Im thankful for the life we share and protect together, and thankful for the wars we fight against one another. Im thankful for the heaven we seek and the hell we experience. Im thankful for the environments we have to help one another and the atmospheres to avoid one another. Im thankful for life as I am thankful for death. Im thankful for love as I am thankful for hate. For without one, we know little of the other, and feel less passion with the former and latter. And though I despise apathy, stagnation, boredom, and blind selfishness - I am thankful that each of those things give us time to think, circumstances that prevent influences to provide a more honest answer, the ability to make ourselves better or worse, and privacy with our own thoughts. Im also thankful that we can affect one another in such ways that can toss and turn us into the right and wrong. It means we mean something to one another. It proves that no human is an island. And though I prefer to be left alone to my own devices, Im thankful that even Im not an island. I am thankful for all things that exist. And even the things that dont. Im thankful for imagination. Creativity. And insanity. Im thankful for common sense, logic, and understanding. Im thankful for fire and rain. Of grass and sky. (Of Psychic and Fighting Pokemon) Im thankful for each and one of these things. Hate or love or preference or disturbance has nothing to do with it. I am thankful for them. Truly am. Though... I suppose you want a less Ms. America speech. In that regard, Ill be a bit more selfish: Im thankful for all of you. Especially of my wonderful wife Margaret. And my awesome best friend Megan. Im thankful for my father, may he forever be given the rest he so greatly deserved, and the influence he had on me. Im thankful for the moments with my family that made me know what a family really felt like. Im thankful for the comforts and conveniences Im given these days with the help of my wifes parents and influences beyond me. Im thankful for the time I have, the opportunities I have, and for the ability to choose. Im thankful to be alive for one more day, provided by all things beyond me. And Im thankful that ice cream exists. Every day Im thankful for these things. But I suppose on Thanksgiving youre supposed to voice it. So I did. I thank all of you that were weird enough to read all of this.
