Happy Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo Day! 164 years ago Presidents Santa Ana And Polk ended the War between Mexico and the U.S.A. Mexico ceded all of California, Nevada, Utah, and Texas; parts of Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, and Oklahoma. Stretch your imagination to understand that these lands were mostly empty at that time. Our Constitution, respecting the individuals rights to pursue liberty and happiness thus encouraging and nurturing a unique free market economy, enabled the development of those lands to what they are today. Sadly, Mexicos experiment in all-powerful, big government socialism has resulted in a jobless economy, gun control, brutal cartel terror, and an inept government that fails its citizens in every aspect. I wish the best for Mexico and its citizens. I miss my traveling adventures in beautiful country.
