Happy Wednesday to everyone!!! Im so sorry I havent posted since Monday night but these past two days have been busy busy!!! Yesterday we were honored to have a visit from the Brian Parks Foundation!! They made Katie and Hailey Christmas wreaths as well as bringing some household things! The two ladies that came were just the sweetest ladies!! Thank you again to BPF for putting a smile on Katies faces!! So oral chemo...so far so good! Katie is such a rock star. She amazes me everyday! She is so strong and really inspires me to be the best I can be and always try to keep a smile on my face😊 My sweet girl has endured and experienced more hurt, pain, and triumph than I think I will ever in my lifetime! She and all of our family are so blessed to have ALL of YOU continuing to pray for her. We are no where near the end of our journey but its so comforting and humbling to know we have such a huge group supporting us every step of the way! While typing this update I got a call from the surgery department at Scottish Rite and Katie is set up to get her central line removed and her GTUB switched to a peg or button Monday!!!! Not sure what time yet....the hospital will call Friday to let me know! Katie has been awaiting and counting the days for this to happen!!! So many more things she can do without these!! For one she can finally take a bath!!! She has not taken a real bath in over 8 months!! While taking a bath or even in general we can not get her central line wet or dirty (it can cause serious infection)! I posted a picture of what a central line is and what it looks like with the protective tape/patch over it. (The picture is not of Katie but off the internet...I can post a picture of hers later if need be but its pretty similar!) Her GTUB will get switched to a peg which is awesome because she will no longer have a long tube hanging from her stomach!! It will look like a button and when her medicine or feeds are needed we will attach a tube! She can finally run around, jump, and do all the normal 3 year old things!! Its not like we dont do that now but she is very cautious and protective of her lines and tube! Thank you again for all your continued prayers and support! I feel like you all have blessed us and given us so much encouragement along the way that we are forever grateful to all of you. Love you all🙏💜
