Happy Weight Loss Wednesday All! I hope you had a great 4th of July weekend and were able to stick to your goals! This week’s topic is all about the produce! Right now is “prime time” for most fruits and vegetables- they are in abundance, cheap, and perfectly ripe. One of the great things about fresh fruits and especially fresh vegetables is that they are usually quite low in calories. You can eat a much greater volume of food and STILL lose weight without feeling hungry! This type of diet is referred to as Volumetrics, and if you are a person who loves to eat, this could be a great route to weight loss for you! Make vegetables the main part of every meal…and eat fruits and vegetables in between meals as snacks to kick hunger to the curb! Some great multi-versatile veggies that should be kept on hand at all times include squash, zucchini, cucumber, carrots, beans, broccoli, sweet peppers, and sugar-snap peas. Keep a container of these easy-to-eat good foods in the fridge to nibble on between meals or while preparing meals to help you avoid the easy-to-eat BAD foods that can be so tempting to munch on while making dinner.
