Happy almost Eid. A day of celebration that starts with slaughter. Muslims around the world will be eating meat and enjoying time with their families. This is a moment to talk about food and meat. Dear people who eat other beings. I count myself in that boat. I love human and non human creatures and have strong reservations about the procedures and processes we use to grow, kill and process animals. I love my planet and see the damage our food production can have on it. This has lead me to becoming far more conservative in my meat consumption bringing it near to 0. Growing up as a Muslim and approaching Eid Al Adha Ive begun to get curious about the gentle slaughter practice Ive heard but never seen practiced in completeness. In the following video this person takes animals to the point of calm and then kills them for their meat. Its a bit preachy, but its only 15 mins and you see an alternative that I find curious.
