Happy and blessed Sabbath everyone, I didn’t go to church today - TopicsExpress

Happy and blessed Sabbath everyone, I didn’t go to church today as I am home nursing a very sick son back to health, with God’s help and blessings. On Thursday his fever got so high and the herbs along with the other natural remedies were not serving to break it –then the Holy Spirit had to remind me…’Debra, it’s not the herbs, but the power of God that heals” . So I got my Bible and my consecrated olive oil, and as I anointed my son in the name of the Lord, I prayed for God to break the fever and to heal him (see James 5:13-15). I continued to give him the herbal tea and the vegetable soup and the fever went by the next day and he is coming around now, still a bit weak but coming around – praise God! But as I am going over my lesson studies and reading the Bible today I wanted to share a little study that is in my heart with you all. I continue to pray for you as I ask for your prayers, in Jesus name. Remember…Jesus Christ is the Great Physician and He alone can make you whole! Blessings Debra DEALING WITH TRIBULATION AND SUFFERING AS A CHRISTIAN “I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart” Psalm 40:8 I few weeks ago in our weekly fasting and prayer meeting the Holy Spirit led us to look at the only time that Satan spoke ‘truth ‘ in the Bible – this we find in the life and story of our brother Job. In Job 1:10 is listed in fact God’s love for us in five points told from the mouth of Satan, who in fact knows God much better can we do right now – but oh how God and our Lord Jesus wants us to get to know them better (read John 17 – Jesus prayer): 1. God has made an hedge of protection about us 2. God has made an hedge of protection about our house (family) 3. God has made an hedge of protection about all that we have on every side 4. God has blessed the work of our hands 5. God has blessed our substance which is increased in the land Now if Satan is so fully aware of these truths, shouldn’t God’s loved ones, the beneficiaries of his love, given His son to die for our sins, Jesus became sin itself for us to pay the price for our redemption…should we know these truths, believe these truths and live by these truths!!! Oh praise God for HE is good and His mercies endure for ever WHAT IS THE HEDGE THAT GOD HAS BUILT AROUND HIS CHILDREN? “What a God is our God! He rules over His kingdom with diligence and care, and He has built a hedge – the Ten Commandments - Exodus 20:1-20– about His subjects to preserve them from the results of transgression. In requiring obedience to the laws of His Kingdom, God gives His people health and happiness, peace and joy. He teaches them that the perfection of character He requires can be attained only by becoming familiar with His Word” - quote form Ellen G. White, book Testimonies to the Churches, Volume 9, page 182-183 Keep on worshiping and praising him my brothers and sisters. The issue is not that tribulation and suffering will come…that we already know (Jesus speaking in John 16:33 ‘These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome this world”), the issues are: 1. How do we put tribulation and suffering into its proper perspective? – Like Job did he worshiped and praised God and prayed trusting in God’s faithfulness, until his ‘so called’ friends pushed him to question God’s faithfulness!!! – see Job 22 and 23 2. What is our attitude towards God during times of tribulation and suffering? – Do we continue to love, praise and worship Him – trusting in his everlasting love which was fully displayed on Calvary’s cross? Lesson to this sermon by Pastor John titled “Christian under pressure” https://youtube/watch?v=G5PfulZDpUg 2 Corinthians 4:8-10King James Version (KJV) 8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. Romans 8:18King James Version (KJV) 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4King James Version (KJV) 3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. Acts 14:22 (NKJV) “Strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying’ “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” How soon would faith freeze without a cross? - We keep our eyes fixed on Jesus!!! Jesus says deny thy self, take up thy cross and follow me – Lead on King Jesus, lead on! “I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight” – Psalms 119:75-77
