Happy anniversary to my parents, Mitchell Potts and Konni Potts! They were married on this day 35 years ago! Many people claim that half of all marriages end in divorce. And with seemingly increased exposure of our private lives, including problems with relationships, I cannot blame anyone for thinking that the likelihood of a marriage ending in divorce is greater than 50%. No matter the probability, however, I know that true love exists. I know because I have seen it in my parents. I grew up in a home that started when two souls promised eternal love and loyalty to each other. They have had arguments, sure, but everyone has them, married or not. While they have had problems, they have also remembered that they are truly one unit and instead of letting any problems come between them, they have worked them out together and have become stronger for it! So, no matter what I hear about problems other married couples have and the potential for divorce marriage couples face, I know at least one couple that has done it right! Congratulations, Mom and Dad, on your 35th anniversary!!
